These terms apply when you buy Why the Chores Didn't Work or any other title from The Mende Letters ("we", "us"). By buying, you agree to them.
A 232-page book delivered as a PDF, together with two included files: The Weekly Check-In Card and "If She Reads This Too". Nothing physical is shipped. Access is delivered by our payment provider immediately after payment clears.
The book is listed with our payment processor under the name S.T. Mende — Guide 01. That is the same product; the listing name is deliberately neutral so your receipt does not carry the title.
You may read the files, print them for your own use, and share them with your spouse — indeed, one of the included files is written to be handed to her. You may not resell them, republish them, upload them to file-sharing sites, or distribute them commercially. Copyright remains with The Mende Letters.
This book is not medical, psychological, psychiatric or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for professional counselling or therapy. The author is not a licensed clinician, holds no clinical qualification, and says so in the book itself.
It is written for a marriage where two willing people have lost their way to each other. It is not appropriate where:
In any of those situations, please consult a qualified marriage counsellor, therapist or doctor. Chapter 9 of the book says the same thing at greater length, and includes guidance on finding someone competent.
We make no promise about your spouse's behaviour, feelings or choices. No book can promise that, we do not promise it, and the book states plainly that it does not.
Prices are shown in Nigerian naira and US dollars. Payment is taken by our third-party providers, whose own terms also apply to the transaction.
The book is sold at a launch price of ₦9,800 for the first 50 buyers, after which the price rises to ₦14,500. We may change prices at any time. The price you paid is the price that applies to your purchase, and a later increase never affects a completed order.
Covered in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We provide the book in good faith and to the best of our ability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nothing in them removes any statutory consumer rights you have in your own country.
